Four Reasons to Trust the Bible As Your Final Authority
All Christians have got inquiries about the Book and its function in today's life. For example, why are there so many books, programmes and seminars to learn Christians what to believe about the Bible? Bashes the Book really necessitate to be interpreted by people before it is understood? Are the Book sufficient in itself to learn us all we necessitate to cognize about Supreme Being and His volition for our lives? And how make we cognize for certain that we can swear the Book fully? These critical inquiries are answered by the Book itself.
The Book states us many things about itself, but there are four things in peculiar that aid us come up to a house strong belief that the Book can be trusted as the concluding authorization in all substances of faith.
Reason #1: Supreme Being do His word equal to Himself.
Man seeks to put the word of God, the Bible, on an equal position with the Hagiographa of men. Some people take to esteem the Book only for its antiquity and history, similar to the Hagiographa of ancient mythology, while denying the Godhead nature and beginning of Scripture.
This is not God's viewpoint. Toilet 1:1 brands the position of the word of Supreme Being equal to Supreme Being Himself.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1, KJV)
It is not our pick to value the Book as one among many written documents written by men. Supreme Being have made clear that the words of the Book are His and should be valued as such.
Reason #2: Supreme Being claims the Bible's authorship.
We can swear the authorization of Book because Supreme Being sets His postage of writing on it: "All Bible is given by inspiration of God…" (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV)
The word "inspiration" intends "breathed." As Supreme Being breathed into Adam the breath of life, so Supreme Being breathed His very words of Scripture.
We are also reminded by the apostle Simon Simon Peter of God's writing of His word concerning the Old Testament prophecy:
"For the prognostication came not in old clip by the volition of man: but holy work force of Supreme Being spake as they were moved by the Holy Place Ghost." (2 Peter 1:21 KJV) Reason #3: Supreme Being claims His word as the criterion for truth.
When spiritual tradition, scientific discipline or the wisdom of work force stand up against the word of Supreme Being as concluding authority, God's reply is short, but to the point:
" …let Supreme Being be true, but every adult male a liar… " (Romans 3:4 KJV)
In Genesis three when Shaytan appeared to adult male in the Garden of Eden as that "subtil" serpent, he became the original Book critic. His inquiry to Eve, "Yea, hath Supreme Being said…?" (Gen. 3:1, KJV) was intended to project uncertainty on the cogency of God's word to Adam and Eve. As Genesis three learns us, his fast one worked. Eve's belief in the word of Shaytan rather than the word of Supreme Being caused the ruin of adult male and the beginning of Satan's onslaught against the word of God.
Satan's programme of prevarications against the word of Supreme Being is alive and well today. Sadly, it is often manifested in schoolrooms of theology, where future curates are taught that the word of Supreme Being is inerrant only in original manuscripts-the illation being that our English Book is not error-free. This system of uncertainty sets every church-going believer at the clemency of Book critics. Without the concluding authorization of Scripture, the very message of redemption loses credibility. Instead of believing those lies, we can believe in Supreme Being and his word, holding it up as our criterion for truth.
Reason #4: Supreme Being continues His word.
Fellow Book student, you can throw all critics at bay with a simple belief in God's ageless promise that He would continue His word:
"The words of the Godhead are pure words: as Ag tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thousand shalt maintain them, Type O LORD, thousand shalt continue them from this coevals for ever." (Psalms 12:6-7 KJV)
Remember, Jesus Himself promised:
"Heaven and Earth shall go through away, but my words shall not go through away." (Matthew 24:35 KJV)
Don't acquire caught up in the false premise that your Book must be interpreted, explained, fixed up or repackaged in order for you to understand God, His program of salvation, and His volition for your life. If you swear what Supreme Being states about His word, then you can rest assured in the religion that you can read and understand the Bible.
